This Friday (20th Nov), WellChild launches the #notanurse_but campaign to raise awareness of the challenges faced by parents, siblings and carers providing high levels of care at home to children with complex health needs. We need your help to:

  1. Shine a light on life caring for a child with complex health needs.
  2. Highlight the gaps in support currently available.
  3. Gather evidence for decision makers to create change.

Leanne’s story

We launch the #notanurse_but campaign this Friday, with the first of a video diary series following Leanne’s story of life caring for daughter Sophie, who has Cerebral Palsy.Over the following weeks, we will share Leanne’s video diary entries across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube using the hashtag #notanurse_but. We hope that other parents, siblings and carers around the UK follow suit.

Mark your diary

Together, we can shine a spotlight on the reality of life behind closed doors caring for children with complex health needs. Please support our campaign from Friday 20th November – share your stories, pictures and videos with us and on social media using the hashtag #notanurse_but.

We will send more information over the coming days about how to get involved. In the meantime, for more information about the campaign, please email notanurse_but@wellchild.org.uk.
